missing IP address

I recently lost my IP address on one of my computers.
Will I have to reinstall Windows XP, do a repair or is it
even a Windows problem?

No, you should not need to reinstall or repair XP. Open up a command windows
and type "ipconfig /release" then "ipconfig /renew".
