Missing Inbox messages

I have Outlook 2007 installed on both my PC and my Laptop. Messages are
continually posted to my Inbox on my PC. However, I've noted that messages
only come through on my laptop when I log on and they're for that specific
day only! I also can't understand that while Sent messages from either
laptop or desktop do not appear on the other device. If I use my yahoo email
account, I can find the same activity on whatever machine I use. Don't they
both use the internet to transfer data?
 
Which mail account type are you using?
POP3 is one way only; from server main mail folder (Inbox) to PC
IMAP, Exchange and the Outlook Connector are 2 way mail sync protocols (all
mail folders).
