Missing images in IE 6.0 (sp2)

greetings!

i am no longer able to view images/pics on certain sites (i.e. craigslist
downloads w/pics, cnn main page (!), washington post comics...). other sites
(i.e. drudgereport, kgw.com [local news site]) appear fine.

i had a virus and restored my windows xp o/s to july 31. ever since then,
pics are missing...there's no placeholder box, no blank space. the writing
above where the picture would be and the writing below where the picture
would be run on concurrent lines.

any suggestions? thanks for the help!

I had/have the same problem. I disabled the McAfee Privacy Service and
presto, no more problem. when I figure out what setting or option needs to
be tweaked, so I can turn on the service again, I'll post that info. Are you
using McAfee?

YES! it worked! i shut down mcaffee privacy service and can now see ALL pics!

i saw another posting on this board about the same problem...i'll let her
know.

BTnBNA was right! I disabled my McAfee Privacy Service, rebooted, and
VOILA!!!! My IE6 works like a charm, and all images are perfect! Thanks so
much!
If you find out what settings need to be changed in order to run the privacy
service without disrupting IE, please email to (e-mail address removed).
