IE 6.0 not loading all images properly - help please!

after installing all the necessary security patches after
the "worm" virus, my IE 6.0 has decided to be VERY picky
about loading images on web pages...sometimes all of them
come through, sometimes only some, and sometimes NONE
(just the pic holder w/the red X box in it). I can view
the image if I right click & hit "show picture" but
that's annoying!

I've tried to go back & change my security access back
to "low" and I've also made sure that the "show
pictures", "play videos", etc. in the "view"/"internet
options" menus are all checked.

What else can I do?? Does anybody know? Should I
uninstall the security patches? and if so, which ones?

Thanks!!

IE6 as well as XP are just too messed up to even bother
with anymore. From not having Java to this damn bug. I
can't see any pictures on most pages unless I manually
change my encoding EVERYTIME! I have many other problems
with my IE6 such as yours. After searching extensively for
a fix (I tried the same ones as you to no avail) I finally
went to www.netscape.com and downloaded 7.1. Everything
works great, and I will continue to use it until Microsoft
can get their stuff together!

I've actually had a similar problem. I recently had to
nuke and reinstall everything on my hard drive and ever
since then, when I load up a website that has pictures
that are tied in with javascript (i.e. randomized banners,
animated vote buttons, etc.), I get the site but no
pictures. I've tried loading these sites on other machines
and even in Netscape Navigator and they show up normally.
I don't know what the problem is, but I have narrowed it
down to being an issue with IE 6.

Suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I agree. For now, I'm onto Netscape 7.1 too!

Thank you Sandi! Here's what happened & IT WORKED!

It was due to installing IE 6.0 sp1. For some reason, if
you have Norton Internet Security, it causes a problem
w/the graphics & images in the new IE.

It is easily fixed by opening your Norton Internet
Security Application & running the "Live Update", and
then letting it download and install any/all updates.
You will need to make sure your Personal Firewall
settings are set to accept images as well.

Hope this helps everyone else,
