missing hard drives

I installed a fresh copy of win2k pro on an 80 gb western
digital hard drive and set it as the master, I have a 17
gb western digital set as a slave. In 'my computer' the 17
does not show up but in the bios it does and in the device
manager it does. why is it now showing up?
 
Did you partition, format and assign it a drive letter in Disk Management?
