Missing gpedit.msc in XP

I have been told to run gpedit.msc to look into a statr
menu problem. When I try to run this I get a message
that it cannot be found. I am using a preloaded copy of
Xp on an HP Pavillion.

Gpedit.msc is a component of Windows XP Pro.
It is not available in XP Home Edition.

Hi Greg,
I have a hp pavilion with Windows XP home. What exactly is your problem?

I am using the user accounts for my family. The problem
is that when you pull up the start menu there is no
logoff button, or fast user switching button. the only
way to change users is to wait for the screensaver and
yhen someone else can log-in. I have enabled fast user
switching.

Oh thanks. I am trying to resolve a problem with my
start menu. I have user accounts for my family and there
is on lof-off button on the start menu. I also have
enabled fast user switching and that does not show up
either. Any ideas?

Hi,

Did you install TweakUI for WinXP? Under Explorer, there is an option to
enable the logon/logoff start menu entry. If you aren't using it, download
it here:
