Missing Floppy Disk Drive

i copied my friend's work onto my disk at school and when
i brung it home i tried to open and it wouldn't , it kept
making this weird noise so i restarted the computer when
i restarted the comp. my floppy didk drive couldn't be
seen in my computer but when i go to device manager it
says that my standard floppy disk controller is working
ok. So why is it not located in My Computer?
 
The standard floppy disk controller is not the floppy drive. Check in the
BIOS to see if the floppy drive is configured and then check under Disk
Drives (???) to see if a floppy drive exist.
