Floppy Drive Not Recognised

My floppy drive is not working. I have opened device manager, and under the
heading floppy disk controller, it finds - standard floppy disk controller.
It says that it is working properly. However when i try to save anything to
it, it is not visible when i open up my computer. I have put floppy disks in
to it and they are not being read. The disk work on other pc's.

Please help.

I did not read the links from the other reply, but here is an idea. I too
show a floppy drive controller as working properly in Device Manager.
However, I have my floppy turned off in the BIOS. It could be that this is
your problem as well.
