missing files

My father-in-law was hit by some of the viruses and I
believe that a couple of files were deleted.

The files that windows XP are looking for during start-up
are: dllreg.exe & vxdmgr32.exe

Any idea how I get these back on his computer without
doing a total re-install?
 
Thanks, I will try this. My father-in-law did get a virus
program but I don't think he new exactly what to do. That
is why I believe the files were deleted.
