missing files

how do you know what file is missing and how do you find it. this is what it says
16 bit MS-DOS Subsystem
C:/WINNT/PCDOCB~1.PIF
C:/PROGRA~1/symantec/S32ENVT1.DLL

S32ENVT1.DLL is part of the Symantec Event Handler.
Sounds like S32ENVT1.DLL could be missing from its location in
C:/PROGRA~1/symantec/,(PROGRA~1 is also known as Program Files) use your
symantec update service and see if this will repair it.

or
2)You could insert the Norton CD of the program you are using and search for
the exact file and copy it over to c:\programfiles\symantec

Otherwise it might not be a bad idea to uninstall it all together and then
reinstall it .
