missing file

Hi,
When i tried to start my windows 2000 i get this error
message.
"Disk i/o error: status-00001000
windows could notstart becuse the following files are
missing or corrupted. <windows2000root>\system32
\ntoskrnl.exe. Please re-install a copy of the above file.
Someone pls help.
