Missing DVD-RW drive

I have a relatively new Acer Aspire notebook running Vista Home Pro. I have
found that I can't view my DVD-RW drive in My Computer, nor can I play DVDs
or CDs. Device Manager implies everything is working, and says I have latest
drivers installed.

What to do?

Unfortunately that doesn't work. No change to status at all. Any more ideas
from anyone?
