My son'd computer is missing a dll file (winshow.dll) I
have tried reinstalling explorer, have done virus scan
(puter is clean), but no matter, the file is still
missing. How can I recitify the problem, I would like
him to start using his puter again. Any help or
suggestions will be appreciated

it is spyware or trojan and will disable internet explorer.
you dont want it
Security Issues:
Yes. Winshow can silently download and run arbitrary
unsigned code from its controlling server.
Stability Issues:
Yes. May trigger Windows XP error reporting with AppName:
iexplore.exe ... ModName: winshow.dll
Recommendations
Prevention:
Apply the fix to the Java VM vulnerability and clear
temporary Internet files cache. See
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms03-011.asp
for more info.

then after this partial fix download spybot and update to
scan and clean.
