missing desktop background

I recently caught a virus and had to fix my comp in safemode. when
finished cleanign everything up, my desktop background appears eithe
grey or what (it changes on its own) and the icons are al
highlighted. the programs run fine but this is unsightly. ca
anybody help me out with this

See if this command helps from Start/Run:

regsvr32 /i shell32

Restart. If the problem persist, see if creating a new user profile helps.
