missing com ports

Hi

I've installed XP Home on my machine however it won't
recognize the com ports.The mother board is made by Asus,
i've tried the most current bios update from Asus with no
better results. Any ideas how to fix this?

I cannot find a direct answer for you.
You might try typing SFC /SCANNOW on the Start, Run line to see if it can
locate or repair the problem.
