Missing Color Categories

I'm missing the color categories for my IMAP account in Outlook 2007, but not
for my POP account. Is this by design? If not, know how to fix this?

had an MSN account for decades. I have Office 2007 and use Outlook (NOT
Outlook Express) for e-mail. I access e-mail from my home computer as well
as remotely. Does this constitute IMAP (not POP3)? If so, are you saying
that I will never be able to use color categories or flags in Outlook/e-mail?
I use them all the time for e-mail at work and really want them here on my
home account. I have tried to "add" categories in "customize current view"
but it never takes. Help! Thanks.

Additional info: It appears I have a HTTP e-mail account. When I right
click on Inbox properties, I am given the option of adding color
categories/flags but nothing ever happens when I make this selection. (It
says it will take a long time but, even after a v. long time, it still
doesn't happen.)
