missing cd-rw drive!

My pc no longer acknowledges my cd-rw (f:/) drive! The
drive is totally disabled and fails to eject my cd that is
trapped inside....any suggestions?
 
If there is absolutely no power to the drive, it is probably that the whole
drive itself has died and that is not a Windows problem.

You should be able to retrieve the CD stuck inside by straightening out a
paperclip and carefully inserting it into the tiny hole on the front of the
drive. This will force the tray to open.

Replacing the drive is relatively painless and cheap.
