Missing audio codec

I am using Movie Maker 6.0 in Vista. When I try to import a music track
(ripped from a CD) into WMM I get an error message that tells me that an
audio codec is not installed. It does not tell me which one and does not
give an option to find it on the web. Can anyone tell me what codec is
missing and where I can find and install it?

If your ripped audio file is .mp3...try .wma.

I tried changing from wna to mp3 and back again. I ripped from cd and also
copied to my computer. I still get the message that a codec required to open
the file is not installed. There is no error message number or help button
to click on.

What do you mean by "I tried changing
from wna to mp3 and back again"?

Did you RIP the CD again with .wma as
the target format or did you simply rename
the files? BTW...renaming won't work.
