missing attachments

We have several people using Outlook BCM 2007 in our office. If 1 person
links an e-mail w/ attachment to an account in BCM, shouldn't the other
people be able to see it in the "history" tab? This is not working for us.
It seems only the person who created the link can see the attachments in the
linked e-mail. Also, several icons are missing from the menu bar in these
same messages.

Attachments are not stored in the BCM database, only links to emails
and files. If the other users can access the same email or file--e.g.
because it is in a common Exchange server or NT share--then they
should be able to open it from BCM.

Our firm uses an Exchange server 2003 for our e-mail. In each account in
BCM, we use the history tab and link e-mails sent and received by individuals
in our company. Sometimes these e-mails have attachments. But only the
person who created the link can see the attachment. For those who cannot see
it, most of the icons on the menu bar are also missing. Does this have
anything to do with the 2 GB limit? And what exactly is included in that
limit?

By the way, what is the number of users limit for BCM before performance is
affected? I thought I read somewhere it's only designed for 5-10 users. We
are in that range now, but plan to expand beyond that in the future.

BCM was designed for a maximum of five users. The performance depends
on hardware, complexity of data, etc. There isn't an actual limit at
which BCM disallows more users.

BCM links to emails stored in Outlook. When you open an email from a
BCM form, BCM asks Outlook to open the email. If Outlook responds that
it can't open the email, then BCM opens a form with the fields about
that email that BCM stored. That's probably what your other users are
seeing.
