Missed Critical Update

Apparently, I missed a few critical updates for my computer at home and now my e-mail keeps shutting down on me. It's very annoying and I'm paying too much for cable internet access to get disconnected, often at important moments. I think the updates were during the big virus scare several months back. Anyway, is there a way to get all of these updates and fix the problem without having to delete and reinstall?

Um - Windows Update should fill the gaps, Lisa; either from your start menu,
or from the Tools option in Internet Explorer

try technet, then search for critical updates. i would
get a virus and trojan scan too.
