Critical Updates

#1- When I check for Critical Updates for my WinXPsp3 (IE7), it takes a few
seconds for me to get results (no critical updates at this times).
However, when I check for Critical Updates for my Vista Premium (IE7), it
takes a fairly long time for me to get results (= no critical updates at this
time).
Does checking for Vista critical upages generally take longer than checking
for critical updates on WinXP PC?
#2- I tried to sign-in to this community board on my Vista (I am on WinXP
now), but everytime, I clicked on "Sign In," I was taken back to the "Sign
In" page.
Would someone know why I can't sign in on my Vista? I checked the Internet
Options, Privacy, but couldn't find anything wrong (?).
Thank you.
Alice

(1) Vista is more secure, and takes longer to check all that new criteria.

Thank you, but very strange. I could sign in when I went to the URL you
provided. However, when I signed out and tried to sign in again, I got the IE
cannot display this page. But when I clicked the back arrow in upper left, I
went back to a page where I was signed in. I really don't know what is going
on, do you?
