mirror changes in two documents

I have a document open in word and when I edit that document another two
documents will show the same changes wether they are open or closed. The
documents have different names but were created from one original and "saved
as"

What is the Word version and what is the relationship between these
documents? What are the changes that are reflected in the documents?

Hi Graham, I am using the office 2003 package. I started the original
document and then used "save as" to create the others. The front page is
basically a cover page so no editing there but every key stroke I make in any
part of the documents is reflected in the other documents wether the
documents are "open" or not. If I change paragraph or text formatting this
also reflects in the other documents, again open or not, the changes occur at
the same position in the document, line and point position, the changes also
overwrite previous data not just insert.

There should be no such links between documents unless the documents have
linked fields (ALT+F9 should display fields). I cannot explain it otherwise.
