Minolta Scan Dual IV problem

Gray

I have been reading with interest articles on this scanner. As it is
so reasonably priced I decided to purchase. However, I cannot get it
to work! All of the software installs OK and the scanner appears to
scan. But, images are completely white (100% solid) with Colour
negatives or 100% black with transparency setting. If it were a
camera, it would seem as though the lens were capped.

Any ideas - or does it seem as though this is one for minolta after
sales....

Sounds like the lamp is blown. Take it back pronto.

I've had one for a month or so now and it works fine however I did get
some white scans when I was doing some manual cropping on a couple
occasions. The solution was to hit the autocrop button.

If that isn't your problem then I'd return the unit.
