Minolta CF911 Repair and Fuser Oil

I have a Minolta CF911P color printer/copier. Just recently the "No
Fuser Oil" warning message came on. I added fuser oil to the fill
line but it still reports "No Fuser Oil".

Does anyone know if this has some kind of sensor that reports no fuser
oil? My manual says it should report "low on fuser oil" before it
stops the machine with the 'no fuser oil" but this didn't happen.

Anybody know anything about this unit?

If someone has a suggestion for a better news group I would also
appreciate the suggestion. This NG didn't seem to fit but I couldn't
find another that was better.

Check the user's manual.
My Minolta needs to have a counter reset after a fuser oil replacement
or it continues to report low oil.
Its in the service menu.

I can't find a "service menu". Currently I am trying to get a service
manual from Minolta but it is going to take 4-6 weeks.

By "service menu" do you mean the small LCD menu window that has items
like Server Setup, Network Setup, Color Calibration, PS Setup? I have
been through this extensivly with no success.

Thanks,

John

Hi John,
This is the Minolta site that has a pdf manual for your printer.
Give it a try.

Okay, I looked at the Minolta site. The manual the link goes to is an
operators manual. I already have this manual. Thanks, for the
direction.

I called my local dealer and scheduled a service call. I thought it
wouldn't recognize the level of the fuser oil, maybe a sensor was out
or whatever. When they called me back they informed me that there is
no sensor in the fuser oil that it works stricly on an internal
counter. The counter can only be set by the service tech using thier
laptop.

Does anybody know if this is true? How does thier laptop hook up.
Can this be done with another computer using serial, parallel, usb
orwhatever? I hate to pay them to come over and reset a counter. I
will this time because of the time constraints but Minolta needs to
come up with a better way.

Fuser oil = $12.00. Service to reset counter = $50.00.

Thanks,

John
