minimum services required for basic win2000 pro

I have a need to conserve memory when running VMWARE with
a Win2000 Pro OS.

My question is can anyone advise which services I can stop
or deactivate that are not needed for the OS to run?

I believe not all the services that are automatically
installed are needed. Stopping and deactivating them will
save memory.

i have the same problem, what i do is open up task manager
and in the processes tab it will have "User name" ,"Image
name" "CPU Usage" and "Mem Usage" if it doesent go to
veiw ,select columns.
now all the executables with system as a user name dont
touch cause it could screw up somthing but everything with
your user name beside it you can end the process freeing
up much needed memory. it works for me so hope it helps.
