Minimizing a startup program

I have a program called ProcessExplorer in my startup folder and I want it
to be minimized to the system tray instead of opening up. How do I do this?
There's no option in the program to do it.

Then you need a general purpose utility like The Wonderful Icon to do it
for you.

Try this.

Locate the ProcessExplorer shortcut in your startup folder and right click
it.
Select Properties, on the Shortcut tab, in the Run list, click Minimized if
you want the program to open as a taskbar button, click Apply and click OK.

Did you reboot?

Did you close ProcessExplorer first before trying to open it again by double
clicking the shortcut in your startup folder?
