Minimize

When I minimize any window, normally it will go down to
my taskbar. But now it does not go to the taskbar so I
can click on it, I have to go to the task manager and
click on that just to find the window I minimized.

I have the exact same problem and it's really bugging me! You can use
ALT+TAB key to cycle through the minimized programs. I was cleaning up my
computer and deleted all but the latest restore point, so that option isn't
available to me now. I have used Adaware to check for Trojans and have
checked my computer for viruses. I can't find much online to cure this
problem short of reinstalling XP again--which I don't want to do because it
will take a whole day to get everything back to normal.

I hope someone has the answer to this problem....<please!>

I found this post in another group and it worked for me! Now I'm back to
being a "happy camper"!

I suggest you visit MS-MVP Kelly's website at

Note the instructions at the top of the page,
then scroll down to line 240,
(Programs Aren't Minimized in the Taskbar)

Right-click the hyperlink, then click | Save Target As |
to download the file, "xp_taskbar_desktop_fixall.vbs",
then double-click and follow the prompts.
