MiniDisc Recorder

Hey all, my problem is kinda specific so I dont know if anyone will be able
to help...I'll be as precise as possible.

I bought a Soni MiniDisc Recorder (NET MD / AM-NX9) instead of recording
through a single line manually it has a "one push download" system through a
USB line, using a program called Sonic Stage. It worked perfectly for a
month, then I installed Service Pack 2 and the program (and my computer) no
longer recognised the device. Anyway, I uninstalled Service Pack 2 and
reinstalled the software from scratch...still wont work. The minidisc player
displays "MD>>PC" like it should but the Sonic Stage software says "the
device is not connected". Occasionally I get a message saying something
along the lines of "windows had detected new software but is unable to
identify it".

I really need to get something from a disc onto my computer and would be
really grateful for any help at all.

Thanks
Alex

I would first check with Sony to see if there are any software updates.
I'd also check on some of the minidisc forums to see if there is any advice.
