Connecting and Transferring Tracks from Mini-Disc to PC

I have a Denon Mini System with Mini-Disc Recorder. To my knowledge it is MD
not Hi-MD. I have now purchased a SonyMZ-NH600 Net MD Walkman with USB
transfer capability. It comes with Sonic Stage Version 2 software and MD
Simple Burner software.
My intention for buying it was to download my Mini-Disc collection onto my
PC for transfer to my i-pod.
My computer, through the Sonic Stage software acknowledges the existance of
the tracks but it will not load them into the Library. Is this because they
are not being recognised as becuse they are MD ATRAC and not Hi-MD ATRAC
files? They are not LP2 files either, I don't think.

They will not even play through the PC speakers when connected direct with
the supplied USB connection. Is this because it is plugged into a hub and not
direct to the PC?

Does anyone know of any software that will read the original MD files and
transfer them int WAV or WMA?

try a free download of dbPoweramp . It is available at www.tucows.com . It
converts just about everything. Don't convert to WMA if you are planning on
using these files on your iPod, though. Convert to MP3--WMA does not work on
an iPod. MP3 is playable on your iPod, computer and (now) your network
Walkman. I am surprised Sony did not provide software that allows decoding
of ATRAC on your computer (I'll bet they did).
