Migsol error?

When trying to upgrade from win ME to XP pro I get this
error message,
Migsol has caused an error in KERNEL32.DLL
Migsol will now close
After that my computer just locks up and will not respond
to any commands.
It happens when it is analyzing my computer.I ran scan
disk and restarted my computer and the same thing happens
every time.I have a HP XT878 1.3ghz AMD Athlon with 512mb
DDR SDRAM with a 80 GB HD.
Any help would be great.Thanks

I found a article on microsofts site about this.I followed the instructions and uninstalled the roxio files and clean booted the system and I still get the same error.
