MIgrating Templates to Word 2003

We are migrating from Word 97 to Word 2003 and the templates (and associated
docs built on these templates) open very slowly. The server names were
recently changed as well.
I thought that I remebered that the server name was embedded in the template
and that when upgrading Word with server name changes, the templates needed
to be "corrected"

Any ideas or know of a tech note which addresses? I have had no louck in my
searching.
