Migrating from 2000 Advance Server to XP

Can it be done without having to resort to a clean install
(i.e. can all my applications and settings be preserved)?
 
It should be possible, but I wouldn't sugest it. I would take it up from 2000 Adv. Server to 2003 Server. Taking it to XP would be downgrading it to a workstation again.

That's what he wants to do - and, had you'd read Carey's reply, you'd have
known that installing a workstation OS over a server OS is /not/ possible.
