Migrate emails from older versions of Outlook Express to Outook 20

I got a new computer and I am using Outlook 2003 now. I would like to
export/migrate all my old emails (outlook express older versions) which are
saved in CDs and zip drives to my new outook 2003. I have old emails from
outlook express dated from 1997 to 2003 and I miss having access to my old
contacts and important emails.
I heard that I would need to use all the older versions of outlook express
in order to import/export gradually from one version to the following version
untill to be able to do it in Otlook 2003. Is that the only way??? It seams
too much work and I don't have all those versions.
Is there any software or other way to migrate all these old emails to the
outlook 2003?
Please I need help.

You can just import them into the version of Outlook Express you are using.
You can go back in version not
forward. Go to File | Import | Messages... | Microsoft Outlook Express (4
or 5=6) | Next | Import Mail from an
OEx Store directory | OK | Browse...

Now you should put those store directories on your harddrive and make sure
nothing is Read only in there. You
do NOT point to any file you just point to the folder containing your dbx
files which are normally located at:

C:\Documents and Settings\%profile%\Local Settings\Application
Data\Identities\%CLSID%\Microsoft\Outlook Express

The import wizard will pick them up on its own.

Lastly you might want to pose your question in a Microsoft Outlook Express
newsgroup.
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie6_oulookexpress is one.

Then to get them in Outlook 2003 you File | Export.. | Messages... them out
of Outlook Express. They will
appear in Outlook. One thing you should be aware of though are duplicates.
You can end up with lots of copies
like mice. To remove duplicates:

applies to all.
