Each time I try to access Microsoft Word, I get the message that Microsoft needs to shut down. This just started. I hae tried updates but that didn't work. Can anyone help?

Try uninstalling/reinstalling Microsoft Word.

Otherwise you are better off taking this to a Word newsgroup:

Try deleting normal.dot. It may be corrupted. Just search for all
occurrences and delete them. This file will be rebuilt when you start
Word.
