Microsoft Word running very slow

My computer recently started acting weird. The pull down
windows in Microsoft Word appear very slowly. Is this a
Windows XP problem? Any suggestions on how to fix? Thanks.
 
Hello,

There are many patches for Microsoft Word. Go to the
Office website and run the wizard that will tell you
which patches you need.
