microsoft word inop

after a thunderstorm, i had to re-boot my laptop. since
then i have been unable to access microsoft word. even
attempts to down load it from the microsoft website have
been to not avail.

Word isn't available for download from the MS web site. You're going to have
to reinstall it from the original CDs.
