Microsoft Wireless Optical Mouse Scrolling problem

For those who have a scrolling problem where it does not work as
expected or as smooth as it should, just replace those darned batteries
that come with the Wireless Optical Mouse or Desktop and it will work
correctly. Took me a week and when all else failed I decided to try the
advice suggested on the Microsoft support site and change the batteries
in the mouse, allthough the Intellipoint says they are full, and
replaced those Energizer batteries with Duracell and now the mouse
scrolls just as good as my old Logitech.
This is a weird problem, because I tested the Energizer batteries and
they are far from empty, yet the mouse will not scroll smoothly with
them.

Ok forget the above... while writing this I decided to try again the
Energizer batteries (to confirm that they are the problem) and guess
what, they are now scrolling also smoothly as well. I would say, maybe
it changed channels or something, yet I already tried that before with
the connect button on receiver and mouse, but it didn't work. So maybe
the mouse needed, like many Microsoft products :) a hard reboot, by
removing the batteries.

Anyway for me the problem is solved... I am glad for this. Hopefully
this will help others with this problem.

You should also check where/how the receiver is located. I had a problem with
mine, even with new batteries. I found my solution by accident, just by
moving my receiver close to the mouse area.
