Microsoft Wireless MultiMedia Keyboard 1.1

I upgraded my keyboard, that was sticking. The old keyboard had two leads
from the receiver that went into the small, round keyboard ports (I think).
The new one has the receiver plug into the USB port. The problem is that I
can't get keyboard control until Windows has booted up. This is a problem
because I need the Enter key to make an OS choice during bootup. I am having
to use the old keyboard to get to Windows when the new one takes over.
Hardly ideal!. Suggestions, please? Gareth

You're going to have to borrow a keyboard for the times you need to get into
the BIOS and need keyboard control before you enter Windows. Keep the old
one, just for those odd moments.

Can't he deal with this problem by enabling "USB legacy support" in the
BIOS? That's how I did it.

Well he could... provided he can GET into the BIOS.... and as he says, at
present he can't with the USB keyboard!

He's switching keyboards after selecting the operating system, so he
just needs to enter BIOS and switch USB on, and then he can retire the
old keyboard.

Brilliant! That's done the job - my thanks to you and the other folks who
replied.
