Microsoft Wireless Desktop 6000 V2 under Vista - some keys not working - mouse scroll wheel 1 direct

Hi.

Can anyone help with the following.

Have downloaded the latest versions of intelltype and intellipoint from MS.
Installed under Vista Home Premium 32bit.

Two keys not working, both on the bottom left labelled gadgets. The magnify
button does nothing when I press it, neither does the gadget button.
What should these keys do exactly and any ideas why they don't work ?

Secondly, in some programs but not all, the scroll wheel on the mouse only
scrolls in one direction ( usually up ) not matter which direction the
scroll wheel is moved. Programs where this occurs include Google Earth and
Quicken 2004, works ok in most programs though. This is not a problem when
run under XP Pro so I don't think it's an hardware issue.

Any help appreciated.

Hi!

I have a similar problem with a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical
Mouse 4000 under Vista. In Google Earth I can only zoom in, in iTunes
and Picasa I can't zoom at all. In XP the mouse works perfectly and
with other mice in Vista I have no problems too.

I guess it must be something with the driver. Microsoft products, with
the Vista logo, failing under Vista. What a mess...

There is a known issue with Quicken and the MS mouse. Intuit is aware of this
problem, but has not issued a fix as yet. I believe I also read about a problem
with Google maps.

I'm getting this problem too, Google Earth will only zoom in, Sony
SoundForge won't scroll, and Expressions Web scrolls all over the place
randomly when you move the wheel, this happens with my "Microsoft
Intellimouse Explorer for Bluetooth" and my "Logitech USB Wheel Mouse" which
is plugged in at the same time for when my Microsoft mouse dissapears (I have
the problem when either mouse is the only one plugged in as well so it's not
the fact i have 2 mouse connected),

However ... it DOES NOT happen if i use the mouse wheel on my "Microsoft
Keyboard Elite for Bluetooth" which performs correctly in everything except
it works faster than the wheel on my mouse so whatever i do it is a
compromise - Keyboard too fast or mouse too slow.

I did not have these problems with the same hardware connected to my old XP
PC so any help would be appreciated, as navigating in Vista is starting to
become a massive chore.
