Hi,

As part of a CD I plan to make, could anyone who maybe has a Windows
XP with SP2 integrated (i.e. built in) tell me the dates of the files
on the CD?

I am asking for this help as apparently the CD I earlier made won't
work without the correct dates. If anyone can help me with this by
finding out the file dates and times on their XP+SP2 CD, please do. I
would be very grateful.

Thanks in advance to anyone who can offer assistance.

slip stream in 3 commands:

1. Copy CD to HDD:
Xcopy d: c:\sp2cd /e /h

2 put the SP2.exe file to the root of the drive, integrate
the service pack:
Execute the command:
WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe /integrate:C:\sp2cd\

3.you are now ready to create a bootable image or burn the
CD with a CD Burning program. (make sure you label the CD
correctly

I've done this to all my XP install CD's without issue.
(Retail, OEM)

CDIMAGE.EXE -lWXPFPP_EN -h -j1 -m -o -bxpboot.img C:\XP-
SP2 C:\WINXPSP2.ISO.

Hi,

Thanks very much for your help. Although, I already slipstreamed
a few CDs and the installer won't go very far, and that is why I think
it is because I gave CDIMAGE the wrong date to use. That's why I am
hoping that someone who has an official integrated SP2 CD could tell
me what date their files have as I think the SETUP program checks for
the dates now.
Please let me know if you can help out there. Thanks for your
reply!

It won't be a matter of dates, but of build numbers. These will be the
same as for a stand-alone, final build SP2; 5.1.2600.2180

The actual date I would *expect* to be set to that of SP2 - 3 August
2004 - rather than complicate things by leaving the date included in
making a complete build as possibly later

Hi Alex,

The file dates on my official Service Pack 2 CD (which I ordered
from the Microsoft website for free) are 4 August 2004, 12:00. So
does that mean that I should use these dates for my CD?
When I tried it before with Nero I let it use the dates by mistake
and XP just gives me a NTOSKRNL corrupt error. I checked the file and
it is the right size and everything, so it must be the date. Same
happened with a Windows 2000 + SP4 CD, I still don't know the date for
that one yet and so I haven't got either of them working.
Thanks for your reply! So do you think the 2004-08-04 12:00 date
would be the one to use? I hope someone who has an official CD can
clarify for me, and likewise if anyone has the Windows 2000 + SP4
official CD, because mine won't work without the correct date (the
files are fine, I checked most of them).
It's a silly question but a necessary one! Thanks guys!

Daniel
