I have a lot of files that were created with Microsoft Works. Now I have
Microsoft Office. Is there any way to open these files and transfer the
information?

There is a converter/filter for Works for Windows 7
This is not installed automatically with office
You will need to go to Control Panel, Add and Remove, select Office (mine is 2003),
select change , select add and remove features,
- select Choose advanced customisation of applications
Under office shared features, select converters and filters, Click on the +, select
Text converters.

Alternatively it may be designed to run on first use, try opening one of your
documents in Word and see if it asks for your Office CD to install the converter
automatically for you..

Hope this helps.

Open the Office equivalent of the Works component used and choose "File -->
Open" and change the file type appropriately.
Open the document/spreadsheet/whatever.
Save it in Office with its new formatting.
