Whilst you will find nothing Help full om microsofts
site about the update which screws you system up you
will find help else where on Zonealarms forum for
example.

Microsoft is *still delivering* the update which will
kill peoples internet connection.

Bastards.

Suggest you read the fix.

Even if that is true it is still highly irresponsible to release an update
which will
kill peoples internet access.

Also as far as I am aware ZA never denies acces silently, it
allways prompts when a new program tries to acccess.

This update is crucial. Even Linux has an update for this problem. If I
were you, I'd uninstall Zone Alarm and either get Comodo or use the
Windows Firewall.

Why should Microsoft have responsibility to test any of their
software/updates against every conceivable non-Microsoft product? If that
were the case NOTHING would ever get done.

It sure killed mine. However, I got it back as soon as I deleted it.

Lord Turkey Cough is blaming the wrong party (Loves to Hate MS)
It was very poor design on the part of ZoneAlarm Free that killed the
internet connection.
The MS patch really is needed and a lot of servers are seeing this problem.

I've just installed the new relevant ZoneAlarm version 7.0.483.000,
and the outstanding MIcrosoft updates.
Everything seems to be working ok so far. Thanks to ZoneAlarm for
their swift action.

Swift action?

Checkpoint had knowledge of this update four months ago. They did nothing to
help their users until disaster came upon them. Maybe an error in timing
but still shame on them.
