Microsoft says "yes" but does "no".

Windows Picture and Fax Viewer: error message;
"Failed to save to the specified location. Make sure the
file is not write-protected and there is enough space on
the drive to save this image. Copy To Aborted".

OK, did that! Still won't save. Only the folders are
write-protected and their write-protected attrib cannot
be unset ("This is normal and will not interfere with
writing files"... according to Microsoft knowledge
base.) BUT!, It appears to be the ONLY thing keeping
Microsoft's Picture and Fax Viewer from completing the
Copy To operation after some freehand annotations are
added to a tiff file.

What gives!?
