Has this group gone "missing" on anyone else's setup?

It appears to be not offered anymore for subscription in Outlook Express.

Are you using news server msnews.microsoft.com?

I have the group you ask about and it is current.

I use Forte Agent but that should not make a difference.

A lot of the groups went missing yesterday but were back fairly soon.
The hardware one is not missing any more. Do whatever you do in OE to
refresh the newsgroup list.

Richard: It's available in mine.

MS a bunch of newsgroups over the last day or two, as referenced in the MVP
private newsgroups. Should be back. Try resetting.

This seems to be a problem of Outlook Express. It used to happen
a lot at Earthlink - when the server "forgot" that it carried a newsgroup,
it reported to Outlook Express that the newsgroup didn't exist.
Outlook Express then removed the newsgroup from its list of
newsgroups that were available from that news server. Even when
the news server subsequently "remembered" that it carred the
newsgroup, the client's account in Outlook Express wasn't
automatically updated to reflect that. The only remedy was to
re-download the *entire* list of newsgroups from the news server.
Even if you have a broadband account, *that* can be a pain in the
beautocks.
