P2P software could be coming to a computer near you, from Microsoft! Codename "Avalanche" is being developed from the Microsoft research labs in Cambridge.
It works in a way very similar to BitTorrent, and will most likely be introduced as a legitimate way to redistribute large downloads such as patches, updates and demo software.
