Microsoft Outlook

I currently use Outlook Express, but want to use Outlook
as well, particularly for the Calendar.

When trying to set up I am getting the following error
message.

'Outlook is unable to set up for offline use. You mut
have a valid connection to your Exchange Server to set up
for offline use. The file C:\xxxx\outlook.ost cannot be
accessed. You must connect to your Microsoft Exchange
Server computer at least once before you can use your
offline folder file.'

I have just done and update, still the same. Have
shutdown and started up again, opening in Outlook. Still
the same message.

Any suggestions

Dumb question, but does your organization actually use Exchange for its mail
server? If not, remove the Exchange account and add an Internet mail
account, POP or IMAP.

I am having the same problem. I do not use exchange, but outlook thinks I do so it tries to start it up. It gives me the "you must connect at least once" deal and then kicks me out of outlook so I don't even have the opportunity change the email settings

(I don't know if I'll be able to find this thread again, so if you wouldn't mind, please email any response you may provide. thank you so much

As I said before, if you don't use Exchange, take it out of the profile. You
don't need to start Outlook. Use the Mail applet in Control Panel.
