microsoft outlook teachers and studens 2003 not working for me

it wont let me recive but i can send emails and it asks for my password and
everytime i try it wont do antthing just the same thing heres the error
Task - Receiving' reported error (0x800CCC92) : 'Your e-mail server
rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account
properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR
Login failed.'
