Microsoft outlook inbox messages disappear

XP . Sporadically, inbox messages that I see one day are not there the next
day. They usually reappear in a couple of days. Usually this occurs when I
see the first few lines of the mail, but have not actually opened it. Can
anyone supply a reason and a fix?

If this is truly Outlook, as apposed to Outlook Express, you should be
posting to an outlook ng, and giving your version.
In the mean time, perhaps you are changing your View settings?
