inbox messages disappear then reappear 2 days later

Sporadically, some recent messages in my inbox disappear, only to reappear a
day or two later. Any ideas how to fix this? Many thanks

Look at your View settings for some filter that could be doing this. Also
check your Rules.

I figured it out. In my inbox the box in front of "today" and "yesterday"
was changed from minus to plus (- to +) so that I could not view the
messages. Once some time had passed, they showed up in "last week" which was
not closed. So I guess this was a view issue after all.
