No rhyme or reason to this problem as no changes have been made to my
operating system. I am running Outlook 2002 SP3 as part of XP.
The past two days when opening outlook, I get the standard error message
that Microsoft outlook has encountered an error and needs to shut down. I
have allowed the programme to send an error report, and restarted in safe
mode. Though checking safe mode reveals that NO functions have been disabled.
The only hint I get to the problem is that when wanting to send a message I
am told that Word cannot be found or is busy.
-- Also a New problem.

Any advice?? Solutions??

I have run detect and repair NUMEROUS times the past two days since this
problem is reoccuring.

Thank you.

I've been having the same problem for a while now (with the exception that
Outlook doesn't want to shut down) and would be interested in how to find and
fix the problem as well.

You could try a Repair setup of XP, or running SFC to see if a system file is damaged.

To repair all system files, go to Start/Run, and type (or paste in): SFC /SCANNOW

If you run an XP "Upgrade"setup, from the original, or "Gold" version of the setup CD, and you have SP2 installed, it might go into
a setup loop, and you could lose your install. Uninstall SP2, BEFORE you Upgrade setup from CD (that lacks sp2 on it.)
